# Adding a Tag to a Device

Ok you’ve got a device up and rolling in the Koios Data Collector. Next, we need to add tags to the device so we can begin reading in data from your end device. Let’s do it! There are a couple of methods to add tags to a device, in this case we will follow the instructions from the Koios - User Guide. Go to the tag’s [Getting Started](/v1/docs/adding-a-tag) section to learn how to create a tag and make sure to select your device in the dropdown.
