# Creating an Ethernet/IP Device

After [creating a device](/v1/docs/adding-a-device-general) and selecting the Ethernet/IP protocol, you will be expected to fill out the following fields:

#### Ethernet/IP Hostname

The IP address or hostname of the end device used to form a connection.

#### Device Type

Koios currently supports the following Ethernet/IP devices:

- **Logix**
  - Able to communicate with any Allen Bradley PLC in the Logix family that is capable of Ethernet/IP communication.

*Generic Ethernet/IP communication coming in a future release.*

#### Connection Timeout

The amount of time in seconds Koios will wait for a response before it considers the connection to the device as failed.

### Logix Settings

If Logix is selected as the type, you will be taken to a Logix Device Update form with the following fieldsx:

#### Controller Slot

The physical slot of the controller in the Allen Bradley rack.
