# Deleting a Device

Navigate to the device detail of the device you would like to delete. Ensure the device is disabled. Click the ellipses in the upper right corner and select `Delete` from the dropdown. This will open the delete popup.

The bottom of the delete popup gives information about other objects that can be effected by deleting this object. For a detailed view of these references, view the object’s [references tab](/v1/docs/references-tab). There are a few conditions that will disallow the deletion of a device:

- The device is enabled.
- The device contains tags that are used by an enabled model.

> When a device is deleted, it will also delete all associated tags.
