# License

When you first log into Koios, you will have a message indicating that no license file is found. For a guide on how to license Koios, [click here](/v1/docs/licensing-koios). This page will discuss what each section on the license page means. Once licensed, you will be presented with a similar view with the following sections.

### Status Bar

The license status bar will show you the license validity at a glance.

### Details

The license detail section gives you the details of the license file. These fields may be requested by Ai-OPs when troubleshooting a license issue or reissuing a revised license.

> At the bottom of the license detail section is a countdown to your license expiration date.

### Features

The license features section gives you an overview of what Koios services you will have permission to use.

### License Dropdown Menu

The license dropdown menu allows the following actions.

#### Activation Request

Use this button to create a new license activation request file that can be submitted to the Ai-OPs Licensing Portal at [https://ai-op.com/license/.](https://ai-op.com/license/.)

#### Upload a License File

Use this to upload a new `koios.lic` file from Ai-OPs.
